Rick has been a dedicated EAGALA-certified Equine Specialist (ES) since 2010, bringing over a decade of specialized expertise in equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) and equine-assisted learning (EAL). From 1993 to 2020, Rick was with Rasche Counseling, where his last 10 years were dedicated to EAGALA work, supporting addiction clients, veterans, active duty personnel, and first responders. His experience includes working with families and first responders affected by the Sandy Hook School shooting and conducting EAP/EAL sessions in Germany.
Currently, Rick collaborates with The GYST Center LLC, working alongside PEHT in Manchester, CT. Before his EAGALA certification, Rick served as a police officer, including roles in the K-9 and records divisions. He was an active union and PBA member, as well as the lead diver on the department’s dive rescue team. Since 2020, Rick has also contributed to the Ethics Committee, sharing his expertise in service and support of the community.
