Cherry is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor – Supervisor and a military retiree. She graduated from Cornell College with a degree in biology, and from Liberty University with an M.A. in professional counseling. She is currently a doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Liberty University.
Cherry has over nine years of experience in the counseling field. She has assisted clients in dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), insomnia, and, of course, relationship challenges.
Cherry sees the counseling process as a partnership requiring mutual trust, respect, honesty, communication, and commitment to do the work. Her approach is eclectic, drawing from a variety of modalities (cognitive behavioral therapies, mindfulness, attachment theory, experiential therapies, and EMDR) to serve her client’s needs and to support them in achieving their goals.
Cherry respects the courage required of her clients to seek assistance and is eager to walk with and support them as they work to become the person they want to be.
Cherry’s interests include education and supervision in the counseling profession, the use of animals in therapy, and the intersection between physiology, neurology, and mental health. Her hobbies include riding and driving horses, hanging out with her dogs, gardening, and being a grandma.
