Winds of Change, SCOTLAND,

Growing up in Africa gave David quite a bit of experience in
experiential education. He later moved to the UK where he turned to
horses to help in the adjustment. This helped him find direction, and he
moved to Scotland to work as an instructor and mountain guide. Part of
this involved leading three week trail rides with youth. He later became
an outdoor education instructor and guide conducting climbing, canoeing,
and sailing expeditions. David became a teacher and therapist, and then
an assistant principle, working with young people with severe emotional
and behavioral problems in residential therapeutic community schools.
The great outdoors and working with animals were an important part of
these programmes. Since then, David has worked as a therapist in various
settings, conducting play therapy, family, couples, and individual
therapy. Along with his ongoing counseling, he has worked as an
educator at the college and university levels in counseling and IT
(computers). He and his wife, Annie, started Winds of Change to provide
EAGALA therapy sessions. They also took great initiative and started our
affiliate – EAGALA Europe – which continues to grow thanks to their hard
work.
